I care about Your Data!

The following paragraphs of this privacy policy inform you about how I collect, use and process your personal data provided directly or indirectly to me.

Summary

I don’t spy on you and actually have no interest in that. In no way I try to profit off your data!

However, operators of embeds shown on this page (YouTube, Twitter, Discord, …) might be interested in analytics or similar tracking functionality.

If you contact me privately, I try to keep your data as secure as possible, but cannot guarantee 100% confinement.

If you post a comment either on my YouTube channel or on articles of this website (if this feature should ever be available), you agree that they can be moderated (via anti-spam or other community moderation software) and are publicly visible.

Be aware that this policy can change without prior notice, so check back regularly!

More details can be found in the corresponding sections of this page.

If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or find something that’s wrong or suspicious, please contact me right away!

Terminology

“I” and “me” refers to me, the operator of this service and associated YouTube channel, whereas “you” refers to the reader of the contents. The “service” I offer and cover includes all web pages found on the domain caverntwo.com.

Comments

When you leave comments on the site (once available) I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Make sure to read the Gravatar service privacy policy. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page (which you shouldn’t as you can’t register for an account on this page), the page sets a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you just browse the website and never commented, no cookie will be set. However, embeds might create cookies for analytics and functional reasons (see below).

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. Embeds from YouTube, Discord and Twitter might appear on this website. These pages are not controlled by me, so check their privacy policies by clicking on the links.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How long are your data retained?

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so the page can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

In the case you contact me, I get access to the data you share with me. These data will be kept as confidential as possible and not shared with others.

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data the page holds about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where I send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
